Safety is our number one priority and we will do everything we can to avoid any incidents, but please be aware there is a possibility of being stung despite safety precautions. If stung we will call and inform you right away.
Students will be learning beekeeping basics – bee biology, hive life, safety, and equipment
Hive Inspections – Hands-on experience observing bee behavior and checking the hive. Depending on weather and bee behavior will determine the number of inspections during the semester.
Students will be fitted for a suit the first day of class to make sure we have proper sizes for future inspections.
Inspections will be outside, dress accordingly to current weather. Long socks and closed toed shoes required.
Honey & Product Sampling – Taste fresh local honey and learn about bee-made products
Pollination & Gardening – Discover how bees help the environment and your garden thrive
Melt bees wax and create a small craft
What to Bring

Closed-toe shoes
Long socks on inspections days
Suits and veils will be provided.
Allergy medication/EpiPen (if you have bee allergies; please inform your teacher)
