Description

  • Safety is our number one priority and we will do everything we can to avoid any incidents, but please be aware there is a possibility of being stung despite safety precautions. If stung we will call and inform you right away.

  • Students will be learning beekeeping basics – bee biology, hive life, safety, and equipment

  • Hive Inspections – Hands-on experience observing bee behavior and checking the hive. Depending on weather and bee behavior will determine the number of inspections during the semester.

  • Students will be fitted for a suit the first day of class to make sure we have proper sizes for future inspections.

  • Inspections will be outside, dress accordingly to current weather. Long socks and closed toed shoes required.

  • Honey & Product Sampling – Taste fresh local honey and learn about bee-made products
